More even hotter potterings

It has reached 30 degrees in the shade today. Too hot for anything vaguely active. But I was out in the potager this morning before the sun came round, sowing greens, more beetroot, more lettuce and spinach. I also set a layer of grass cuttings around the base of the tomatoes, chillis, aubergines and beetroot to try and restrict the evaporation of moisture from the soil.

Good news on the van front - after a week in the UK, Andy has finally found a Mercedes Sprinter LWB that ticks all the right boxes and a sale has been agreed. Collection hopefully on Tuesday. Projet camping-car, ça commence! It will however be a week before he can drive it back as there is a great deal of stuff that he still needs to buy over there for the conversion.

Bet you're excited about your van! It's already converted then? Much less hassle ;-) You'll have such fun! Taa for the tip re the rock n roll bed but Andy decided not to go with one of those - can't remember why! It's going to be a major project for him, but worth it in the long run.

That's so cool, you have a great life Penny!

I'm going to try the grass cuttings on the tomatoes too - they dry out very very quickly.
